How CineMatch handles your information.

Information We Collect

• Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, display name, and sign-in provider information needed to create and secure your account.
• Profile and preference data: settings such as preferred streaming services, onboarding choices, and recommendation preferences.
• Saved list data: watchlist, liked, watched, and custom list items that you add in the app.
• Search and recommendation activity: search queries, excluded titles, cached recommendation responses, and operational metadata used to return and improve results.
• Subscription and entitlement data: purchase status and entitlement information processed through RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play, such as whether your account has Pro access.
• Device, analytics, and diagnostics data: app events, performance information, crash reports, device type, operating system version, and advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings.

How We Use Information

• To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
• To provide recommendations, browse feeds, search results, saved lists, and detail pages.
• To enforce usage limits, subscription entitlements, and anti-abuse protections.
• To show ads to free users and remove ads for eligible Pro users.
• To understand app performance, diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
• To respond to support, privacy, and data deletion requests.

Third-Party Services

CineMatch uses service providers to operate the app:

• Supabase: authentication, database storage, backend APIs, and Edge Functions.
• Google Gemini: server-side AI recommendation generation. The app does not call Gemini directly from the client.
• TMDB and catalog data providers: movie and TV metadata, images, ratings, and availability-related information.
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play: subscription purchase processing, entitlement status, and purchase restoration.
• Google AdMob: advertising for free users, subject to your device and consent settings.
• PostHog: product analytics and usage events.
• Sentry: crash reporting and diagnostics.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.

AI Recommendations

CineMatch uses AI behind the scenes to interpret natural language searches and return movie and TV title recommendations. AI processing happens through backend services, not by exposing API keys in the app. CineMatch does not display AI-generated chat messages or personal explanations as recommendation content.

Ads and Analytics Choices

Free versions of CineMatch may show ads. You can manage advertising tracking choices through your device settings where available. Analytics and crash diagnostics help us understand whether the app is working properly and improve reliability.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep account, preference, list, subscription, and operational data for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Some backup, log, or fraud-prevention records may remain for a limited period after deletion.

You can delete your account in the app from Profile > Settings > Delete account. If you cannot access the app, review the account deletion instructions or email cinematch@interstellarmktg.com from the email address associated with your CineMatch account.

Children

CineMatch is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to CineMatch, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
